Yasmin Oukhellou Becomes First Celebrity Ambassador for PTSD UK Charity.
Yazmin is a TV Personality best known for starring in the ITV Be show 'The Only Way is Essex'. This summer, Yazmin was involved in a tragic car accident in Turkey, where his on/off boyfriend of 4 years, Jake McLean, died in the accident. The couple, who weren't together at the time, but were working on their relationship together, had been on a night out with friends and drove back to their hotel after. Yazmin fell asleep in the car and woke to the car plummeting down the verge after veering off the road on a tight bend. Yazmin had to break her own arm to free herself from the vehicle and has recently shown her scars to her Instagram followers. Yazmin has kept a relatively low social profile since the incident.
However, earlier this week, Yazmin revealed that she is the first celebrity ambassador for PTSD UK after being diagnosed with PTSD herself following the accident.
We think it's fantastic when celebrities admit to their own struggles and try to do their bit to help others in their position. It really helps to shed light on both mental and physical illnesses. We send love out to Yazmin and hope that, in time, she can recover from the trauma.
